A shop with an artist’s eye

Wroughtenart is Travis Rankin's metal art and fabrication company in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island.

Travis has spent more than 25 years designing and building in metal. He works with homeowners, builders, architects, artists and public clients on pieces meant to last: gates, railings, staircases, fireplaces, wall art and public sculpture.

His work draws on the West Coast: orcas and salmon, cedars and ridgelines, and the history of BC's logging industry, alongside the geometry of sacred patterns. Each piece is drawn for its site and built by the same small team that installs it.

The shop runs a 5′×10′ fiber laser, a 10′ CNC press brake, laser and arc welding, sandblasting and powder coating, plus an excavator for site work. That lets Wroughtenart take a project from concept to installation without handing it off, and run production work for manufacturers alongside the art.
